I know I've not added to good bits yet but I promise I did have some. Sadly reality crept into my game play and put a dampener on the event for me, hence a crotchety and strung out Heth on Sunday. I apoligise to any who got caught by this.
Stoopid real life, how dare it interupt my role play.
good points, in no particular order:
all players
all crew
all refs
Team rum, Team suger
Picture mans tank
finding the one song to jig to and by dammit we were going to keep on jigging to it.
The gut wrenching horror at the words "Reavers have the Captain" er sorry bloke I grabbed and shook.
Gunsharks as ever you are awsome
Meeting the very cool new crews
The "Artifact"
All the personal role play stuff
Oddly enough the snow, definately felt like St Albans. If i'm going to be that cold the least I expect is snow.
folks hanging out with us and the laughter. that's something I love about serenity there is so much laughter.
and last but far from least
My crew, you are all amazing. You work darn hard both, before and during time in, to encourage and add to the fun, From Lilies endless tea brewing and Logan's poker tables to Rio's doctoring and the the Capts Captianess , I am proud of you all. We love the floozy.

Well ithad to happen, but this event I got smacked with the plot stick so damned hard it hurt. It didn't happen the way I expected either, and I certainly didn't see the eventual ending coming, but the tension racked up all weekend
Fun points.
-Team rum, team port.
-The Gunsharks, who are the best bunch of people to roleplay with I have ever met. To say I will miss not being in that group is a massive understatment.
-Fluid character interaction, even between a bunch of people who have retreated from wet/freezing tents indoors at five in the morning.
-Walking down the road, with a grim expression, screwing on a silencer to my submachine gun, and seeing a small group of players hurredly get out of the way.
-Convinced I wasn't going to make it on Sunday night and handing a certain person a gun.
- Last, but by no means least "Welcome back, Captain Vaughan." _________________ _______________________________________

Vaughn, any chance you can fill in some details about the "plot stick" for those of us who didn't make it?
Sounds like you had a great bit of roleplay there.
And if you don't mind me saying, that moment you describe with the silencer sounds pretty damn badass. _________________ Ain't nothin' better than cruisin' the Black with a meal in your belly, platinum in your pocket, a gun on your hip and a Bible in your hand. |

Deliberately vague for a reason. If I didn't tell you IC, I didn't intend for you to know. It'll have shockwaves at the next event as well, and I think it will be a varyig degree of a nasty surprise for some people.
Don't you like surprises? _________________ _______________________________________

Ah right. I assumed it was just being taken for granted that other people knew - maybe it had whole-camp effects like Event 2's guys coming looking for Alicia Minoring and shooting up some of the camp to try to get her.
And in answer, I personally like some surprises, but the surprises I like may differ from the ones Coben likes _________________ Ain't nothin' better than cruisin' the Black with a meal in your belly, platinum in your pocket, a gun on your hip and a Bible in your hand. |

Yay, I love surprises!
Coben, if you really want to know what you missed at the weekend you could always start an IC thread and ask IC?
I'm sure someone who was there must have a clue what was actually going on. Some of them may even be prepared to tell you
I was far too busy with the plotstick beating and the inadvisable use of alcohol to fill anyone in on what else happened. Sorry... _________________ These ain't honeyed words, they're bitter truths. |

"Problem is, ma'am, I ain't been introduced to noone yet, on account of me bein' on Beylix fixin' up my first ship. 'Less there's some news report floatin' around the Cortex, I ain't got no idea anythin' out of the ordinary's happened on St Albans, or even what passes for normal there since it don't happen to be a world I've visited."
Translation: I crewed at event 2 so I know what some of the current players are like and am interested in what I missed, but I'm only bringing in Coben for the first time next event! _________________ Ain't nothin' better than cruisin' the Black with a meal in your belly, platinum in your pocket, a gun on your hip and a Bible in your hand. |

not entirely accurate -
IC, Gonner Hendershot is on his way to Beylix, (presumably to join the crew of your ship?), having bought his passage to there, aboard my ship, the Vital Spark.
Since he was on St Albans, and assuming your characters meet up somewhere before event 4, he can explain all - IC.
otherwise, i could PM you the important details, as i remember 'em, and you can just pass it off as something Gonner told you on Beylix? _________________ Tobias Rieper - The Vital Spark

Indeed, but Gonner knows very little as Gonner spent most of his time gambling, drinking and being in the warm. I have a few ideas as to the plot, but not much as the plot was mainly in the inaccessible areas, i.e outside in the cold and wet. _________________ Gonner Hendershot: Location - CLASSIFIED. |

Just to say I really enjoyed the event in spite of turning up late and was very impressed by the standard of plot, props and rp -especially when some of that rp seemed to be happening without an audience.
There were so many good things about the weekend but...
I liked the poetry and tai-chi.
And the snow.
However, watching Ryan prove his coretexing skills while provididng continual commentary and banter was most awesome.
I hardly had a clue what was going on most of the time, I just knew that I had walked into a huge plot-dump on the crew I was joining.
I spent most of the weekend claiming to be a tourist who had lost his luggage.
It's amazing what some people will tell a complete stranger who hasn't got a gun.
It was just embarrassing not to have a better costume:
Crew member: You can go and get kitted up now.
Silence.
Crew member: Oh... |

So Gonner doesn't know much, but I assume Tobias does - maybe he could tell Coben a few stories when he hears that Coben's fixing up his ship to start captaining?
