New player?Hi all,I'm probably missing a very obvious topic about this or something so please forgive me if this is the case! My name's Alan and I've been attending LT events for seven years...I'm not having much fun anymore and love Firefly. Within my current larp group, we have a seafaring elven tribe loosely based on firefly and having heard about you lot, we wondered if you could give us much info on this system...when events are, numbers involved, costs, requirements, the nature of the game compared to an LT environment (I mean apart from the very obvious setting differences) combat/talky ratio etc Any help would be appreciated either here of via email Many thanks Alan |

The next event is in November, details are availible in the 'Events' section of our website. (www.serenity-lrp.co.uk) "numbers involved" We make room for sixty players at events at the moment, whether this total is reached we cannot guarantee. "costs" The current ticket price is £50, food is self catered. "requirements" Friendly demeaner and a good attitude. "the nature of the game compared to an LT environment" We're willing to give the players a lot more trust and leeway than at LT events. We also expect players and crew to place the atmosphere of the game before the letter of the rules. "combat/talky ratio" This depends on a few things, we try to ensure there are opportunities for both within an event. Certainly if you decide you are bored with trying to talk your way out a situation, pulling a gun is a legitimate option. |

OK that sounds cool, especially since its the atmosphere I'm craving!
In terms of background etc, just come up with a ship and some limited history and thats it? |

The atmosphere on this game is excellent as all the players an crew work to make it as verse like as possible. There is a real sense of commadrie all the way through whilst everyone has their own agenda there is a willingnes to muck in and make the game good for all involved.

Here's a link to the Character Gen stuff if you're interested. I'll vouch for the atmosphere - I was crewing at the last event, and when I walked into the camp on the first night it felt like I'd stepped back in time. Or forward in it, depending on which way you want to look at things
