Event 5

Serenity Event 5 is taking place from the 12th to the 14th of June 2009 at Candlestone Campsite. Further details to follow shortly.

Booking and downtime submission will begin from the 30th of March. Please note that a new version of the rules will be made available by this date, including an updated downtime system.
Earl

Khaaaaaaaaaaan!

People of Gunsharks will not be there due to the fact that we will be running CPs 2nd event of the year.

I will now proceed to kill myself.

ANDY
Grace

As Andy has said and I have said on Rule 7 board - massive disappoinment and upset  Sad that the Gunsharks will not be able to make this as it clashes with CP event!!!

We were really looking forward to Serenity in warm weather.

Tash
Peat

Made a note.  As far as I am aware it doesn't clash with anything I am doing.

As far as I am aware...
Sven

I should be able to make it, and have afew friends i should be able to persuade to book
Skippy

We will be there doing some foodstuffs. We should be able to provide a lot of players and crew from the Cardiff massive...

PS Grace the date clash is pretty unfortunate, but it's the only one available in what seemed like the entire summer, did a round up of sites and only got that one due to Viper contacts. Sad We will continue bugging Jon for more summer events next year!

Meg
XavierYu

Oh, exciting...
Capt Tom Crowson

Yup, think that ones alright. Should be there to spend more time trying not to get killed by newly inherited family members
Gonner Hendershot

Good, family is most important thing.
nick

I've got a sodding exam on the Saturday it is a draft date but I hope it gets changed.

Nick
O.D.

Will hopefully be there with a new crew.
Sarah

Well I'm intending to come but the group I was planning to join are having an attack of apathy (possibly because they mostly live in the Manchester area). So, if they dont make it, will you be needing additional crew?
Bouncer

Sun, Sea and Sand...well no sea and more sand!!!
Can't wait!
L.J Kings

The nearly formed crew of the Gambit should be there as well, hopefully. Just got to figure out whos' going and such either way Smile
Jon

We always welcome people willing to crew events. Smile
JennyScott

Very few of my crew can make it, but I think I can.  Assuming that I can borrow a car and put tents in it.
Lian

YAY IM SO EXCITED!!!!

*jumps around*

Well it seems that the Pharmalux crew in general either have no time or dont fancy the 4.5 hour drive from the Manchester/Liverpool/Chester area, so crewing it is.  Very Happy
Lian

Seriously, this one is in the sticks. The seaside sticks...

I'll definitely be crewing. Maybe I won't get injured this time round...
Gonner Hendershot

Hopefully not indeed.
cassies_file

yeah, less injuries for the crew this time around plz

(i hope to be there)
Jeff Milhaven

Can I send money yet?
Lily

Checking with the rest of the crew, but should be do-able for the Jein huo - here's hoping! Smile
Capn Renshaw

Why do you set these things so close to exam boards?    Mad

I have managed to convince my boss that I can take the time off, I'd be an unbearable nightmare otherwise.  Late night of work on the Thursday for me Very Happy

Count me in, pewpew lazors.  Razz
Doctor Rik

Yayyy.... can make another event at last , been ages since event 2.....Wink
DrugCrazedPony

Incidentally - have you ever considered Kelvedon Hatch (the famous "secret nuclear bunker") as a venue?  I've heard of people running LARP there and it could fit well with this setting.
Jon

I looked at Kelveden a few years back but rejected it on grounds of cost and logistics. It's something I'll look into again now we've got a bit more experience under our belts.
Sarah

I have a stupid question - how do I book to crew? Just by saying "I'll come and crew"? If so,

I'll come and crew.  Very Happy
Keeper

An online crew booking form will be available soon, but in the meantime you can drop us a mail at Refs@Serenity-lrp.co.uk

----Edit----

Further to that, if you weren't already aware, the player booking is now online and open. So go book, yo.
JennyScott

I've put my name down.  Cheque shall be posted to you as soon as I remember to buy stamps Smile
Lee Shaw

Is there a description of the event yet?  I mean I'll probably be going regardless but it would be nice to know what we're getting into... Wink
Jon

On it's way.
Sam Swain

*is excited* but its bloomin close to Waterloo and Ive a nasty feeling I might be vicaring that Sunday.......might have to pull a sickie.
Coben Dane

Considering I've not been in contact for a year or more with the only other guy I had on board for the crew of the Santa Fe, and my student loan has been halved for a rather arbitrary reason, I doubt this will be the event I can finally start my character going.  However, I'm hoping to be proved wrong if tomorrow's talk with the company proves favourable.

If I'm not able to come as a PC, I'd still like to crew as I found that great fun too - is there anyone with a spare seat going past Leicester and/or Cambridge who would like a share of their petrol paid?  Razz
Keeper

In matter of fact, I will be travelling up from Cambridge; drop us (the refs) a mail and we'll see about arranging you a seat.
Sarah

I'll be travelling down from Birmingham and will have a fair amount of spare space; I am happy to help transport people from that part of the world Smile
Doctor Rik

No can do

Bum, can`t make the event after all... clash with a non-LRP social Smile

Re` the Keldon Hatch (Secret Nuclear Bunker) Site, any queries drop me a pm as I co-ran an event there in the dim and distant past.
J. Vaughan

I'll be there, I've paid in advance and booked and everything, which is a rarity for many events.

Got a new Steyr Aug rifle for this one too, for those few who believed Vaughan wasn't packing enough firepower.  Now to pysrep an underslung launcher....
James Booth

Like this?

Ugly lookin thing ain't she?
Jeff Milhaven

Uegh. Who'd put a 203 on a Steyr?

They have their own GL, you know...

James Booth

Where have they put the trigger?
Aura

Shiny!

I'm very much up for coming along and serving as NPC crew for this. I'll be travelling out from Newport; is there anyone I could hitch a lift with in exchange for petrol money and munchies? Very Happy

It'll be my first time LRPing of any kind, and I'm eager to meet folk involved. If anyone's in the area and interested, I and a couple of other Firefly fanboys (also new to LRP) are more than willing to go out for a drink in Newport or Cardiff to say hi and hang out. Y'know, just to reassure people that we're not axe-wielding maniacs before any of us cadge lifts shamelessly.  Razz

Hope to see you all there!
Keeper

Hey all,

The blurb for Event 5 is now up, so you know what you're walking into.

We still have plenty of player spaces left, but the booking deadline is fast approaching so be sure to get your bookings in!
JennyScott

May I please have some sort of confirmation that my booking has been received?  I sent you a cheque ages ago...

Thank you!
Skippy

Hey Aura

We've got someone coming from Cardiff, and we're all going to be there really early, so maybe lifts are a possibility. I'll get back to you.

Well.  Sucks to be me. Smile
psammead

What time are time in on Friday and time out on Sunday liable to be?  Trying to book my transport in advance (as the journey from York to Candlestone is going to be rather expensive otherwise), and knowing this would be useful!
Keeper

We aim for time in at 8pm Friday & time out at 2pm Sunday.
Sarah

I'm still up for crewing but wont be able to get any time off work, so the chances of me arriving before time in are low to non-existant.
L.J Kings

Well, looks like i'm monstering afterall. E-mail should be sent shortly.
psammead

Thanks for the info - can I also ask what time will we be allowed on site from on Friday?
Jon

Please aim to arrive after 4pm. At the very least don't be onsite before midday.
James Booth

Do we have to clear the site on Sunday or is it possible to stay Sunday night?
