I ache so bad. Gunsharks, way to make a girl's thighs burn!
Best bits:
- The Reaver song - "Kill you / Rape you / Turn your skin into clothes..."
- "O-overwhelming f-f-firepower, sir," and severe PTSD with the Gunsharks et. al.
- Watching Cpn. Crowson run, run with his prize.
- "Well hi there, good evening! Are you all enjoying yourselves?"
- Falling on my face in the mud, screaming. Repeatedly.

I'd like to particularly thank the whore and the broken-armed girl who was in shock at the "hut" fire pit on the Saturday night; keeping the two of you company was some of the most enjoyable inter-person roleplay I've done for quite a while.

This was one of the best events I'v ever been to. Once the whole "twist" happened, the pressure was unrelenting, and the situations just kept coming, and getting worse.
Never has being an unpopular government agent been so much fun.

I had great fun. Highlights for me included Mcskippy's, the race, Reavering up and of course, seeing that my granddaughter had finally found herself a good man to settle down with.
Also, apologies to anyone I may have freaked out.

And a massive thank you to you too! It's been a while since I've played with the Angst card and you & Gayle made it so very much fun. I am also still smirking about being surrounded by some of Pharmalux in a darkened tent and discovering they were "Rifties".
Thanks to everyone really. It's been a while since my last scifi LRP event and you all reminded me why I loved it so much...
To all the people who were keen, to all who organised, cooked, interacted with me, the crew who scared the carp out of me when I was alliance (and ripped me a treat!), Jimi the white reaver for managing to miss my chin with his foot, Dave for being Carver and roleplaying at me even if we were both crew.. and so on.
Hells, it was amazing!! I feel more frothy than a cup of Latte that's all froth. Nomnomnom.

I'll paraphrase what I wrote on my LJ here:
"I pretty much universally enjoy LARP events - whether writing, running, crewing, playing or whatever, but genuinely can't remember the last time I had that much fun LARPing.
(...)
Good crew, great plot, cool pyros, excellent site, big guns. Roll on the next one.
Agaaaaain. Agaaaaain."
Thanks so much to everyone for making a bunch of loud-mouthed New Melbourne caterers feel so welcome in your little 'Verse. We all had an absolute riot.

Thank you to everyone who made the event as awesome as it was.
Hadn't been in the 'verse for a while but damn it felt good to be back (also terrifying with Reavers around the place!!!)
HUGE thank you all.

For the merest of split seconds, I almost had the same sense of foreboding... The worst thing is the amount of time it took me to remember where else I recognised you from...

Oh, jeez, OW!
But hey, wanna do it again
Finding myself in a Riftie tent and checking off mentally the mutations people should have had was funny..."demon head, claw, nothing, tentacle..."
And watching your faces when Del showed up as a certain crime lord was absolutely priceless. I wouldn't have traded that for anything
Love y'all so much

A huge thanks to all the players who shot the 'white reaver'

As introductions to new systems go, that one weren't half bad! It was really fun to try something completely different, and it was as good as I'd hoped it would be.
Big thanks to the refs and the crew members who made me feel extremely welcome over the weekend. Now, when did you say the next one was again?

Prince
|
GoodnightKinda goes without saying that I had an utterly awesome event. You couldn’t ask for a more heroic death… and the beautiful irony that Prince saved everyone by crashing his ship one last time.
Highlights:
The race, the betting, TJ wigging out over losing his 5k bet…
Coming back from a scout and being just one moment too slow on the uptake… then getting captured like everyone else.
The 101 ways to take down the laser fence, that swiftly became ‘how do we keep it up?!’
Reavers! Endless waves of reavers!
Highly engaging mishmash of cortexing, mechanic work and medical experimentation, with a whole slew of people, both old compadres and new allies.
Two scary expeditions in the dark to the Alliance outpost… with its severed bloody limbs and intestines scattered everywhere…
Recording a farewell to the Gunsharks on Saturday night.
Goodbyes to Grace and the boys at the airlock.
Always turn left!
Big thanks to the refs, especially to Gerwyn (for reffing the trip to the shuttle bay & Prince’s final flight), Andrew (for coming up with a terrifying event) and Jon (for being here, there and everywhere). The crew were exceptional throughout, from bouncy news reporters, through to stoic Alliance goons and tenacious, never-damn-stopping waves of reavers!
Bring on a summer event with a beach
Signing off,

Were you Medic Mike? (as I now think of you) -- if so, thank you so much! It was my first time LARPing, ever, and I was worried I was laying the trust-issues and the cliches on too thick. But yeah, you were fantastic.

Also...As a general shout-out to everyone, thank you for all of you making my first LARP experience utterly fantastic. I came in rather daunted but found myself blown away by the RP I was able to get going with players like Shepherd Sam and Medic Mike (sorry, as you can tell by my moniker, I'm Alma Alliterative), and by the phenomenal stuff I saw going on with Prince, Niska, Natalya, Jesus, the list goes on... Also, power-tripping as an Alliance soldier, wearing bloody entrails around my neck, contributing to and filming the Reavers song -- endless highlights!
Hope to see you guys at the social event and/or Event 5.

Wow.
This was such an awesome event!
Also my very first time LRPing, ever, so didn't really know what to expect, but I knew I would have a good time, and I did!! Even if my ankle did get sprained and make me sit out half the event...
Here are my best bits:
=Being corseted and flirty as Cherry the whore.
=McSkippy's!
=Being scary Alliance, with guns.
=Being a scary reaver, and getting COVERED in mud.
=Learning the combat system and practising LOADS on Jimi, trying to get it right ("Lian, you have to make contact when you say double damage!"), and then never managing to actually get within 20 feet of anyone while being a reaver.
=Seeing how cool LRP is and interacting with everyone, esp Prince, Jesus, The Fake Padre, Cap'n Crowson, can't remember other names .
I enjoyed this so much, and I am totally going again.
Huzzah!
Also, thanks to Jimi for taking me (and letting me eat his babies), and people like Cheryl and James and Hannah and Lizy and Dave and EVERYONE I met for looking after me and making this incredible.
Yay!

Since I have recovered from my adrenaline overdose, it occurs to me that I really need to thank the two crew who played Huey and Perkins for dropping me in it and pulling me back out of it, in something approaching record time
That was some good reminiscin' we had back then!

WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH! THIS EVENT SUCKED!
Not enough Reavers!! Not enough gun fights!!
Is something a Dimmy would say!! ;D
Man... Serenity is by far my favorite system.
That was an amazing event. SO good. So many good bits I can even say.
Everything to do with being a Medic is fricking fantastic. I loved sharing information and working through what we believed to be a virus responsible for making these things. And doing it all IC and not even thinking about the movie.
Saving the pregnant girl was amazing. And being asked to be a God Father really made the event.
Oh, and then finding out who the Grandfather was... that was... an interesting twist... especially as when she said 'I'm going to get in so much trouble for this' I told her I would shoot the first person to give her a harsh word.
I then found out who he was...and decided maybe I would just steal his hat...
I can't wait for the next one. I NEED MORE!

I had great fun. Reavering was a lot of fun. Shame I didn't spend much time in the player area except when I was attacking them.
Fun parts:
Jesus almost winning the race in a shuttle.
Running at a player who was armed with a shotgun, and still scaring the go-se out of her.
Captain Tom Crowson not being slow to realise exactly what family he'd married into.
So, when does Event 5 happen? I want more!!!
|
Capt Tom Crowson
|
Ol' Captain Tim didn't have a clue who he was marrying into
I did, but Tom didn't.
Not that he'd have been able to get out of it even if he did. Two people with shotguns were a great incentive. And no-one wants to upset Mr Niska by refusing a proposal from his grand-daughter
The race was quite funny. There were lots of "ooohs" and "ahhs". And it would've been funny if Jesus had won it
Yep I'm already wanting the next event to come along. I know how much effort it is to get them sorted though, so I'm happy for Jon and Andrew to take a well deserved break

Admin Monkey

Those shotguns weren't just pointed at you, Trez
And, as well as that, what's wrong with Natalya that the idea of marrying her is so repellant?

A HUGE thanks to all who made the short time I was there fun (had to skip out Saturday evening )
Highlights included:
Finding deer in the biosphere after being told there was nothing to hunt in the place, clearly smuggled in.
The conversation about how you needed sterility for medical procedures and the shock from those we were talking too at how their doctor was failing at it.
Having a valid reason for serving people strawberries and people's reactions to fresh fruit.
Dodging reavers and grenades and not sensibly staying in cover in order to stand next to one pregnant lady with no weapons. Can't believe she got herself shot later on
Managing to get a ref call that allowed me to join my crew in performing open heart surgery on a shorted out electronic heart - made this mechanic happy if a bit bloody.
OOC: Helping break a few crew with the naming combinations that occured within our crew
Djinn Toby - Pharmalux ships engineer

That only happened as I'd been introducing Miss Constance Tang to a lot of people just before you turned up. I blanked my own name.

I just got 'reprogram your mind with subliminal messages through your computer'. The Alliance have hacked this board, it seems...

Took me a while to remember I had actually signed up to the board.
IC Highlights:
- the way people reacted to the name badges
- Getting fed the same cheesy chatup line I had been when crewing the last event, but being able to react completely differently, and thankfully without giggling.
- Listening and taking part in the bl**** border worlds ranting us core worlders (and in my case space travelling newb) were doing at regular intervals.
- Actually managing to think up contracts on the spot (nope, I was too busy to prepare them properly)
- in a bored moment being taught to shoot by AJ our security man, and almost shooting someone when the safety catch slipped...
- watching the ship's engineer perform open heart surgery...
- being cheered up by my capt. wiggling his "bustle" at me (Don't worry captain, IC I'll never tell...)
- Calming everyone down during the Alliance questioning by pointing out that we a) weren't criminals and b) that our capt (as was) was on their side and so he would be on ours... I hoped.
- asking said captain for my tea during the siege because darned it Constance was cold, had just poured 5 cups (incl the one he fetched himself) and she was darn well having hers alliance or no alliance.
- turning round and having to explain that no, I didn't actually know what was going on either, I just wanted my darned tea.
- watching a reaver storm into the surgery screaming, knocking down the two doctors and then as I screamed and cowered in the corner, it finally collapsing and dying in the chair in front of me!!! I was unscathed :O
- choosing to stop saying Constance was bored as this just made people ask for tea.
IC/OC lowlights:
Discovering they finally needed cortexers about 30 mins before I was leaving...
Having to leave on the Saturday
OC highlights:
Crew
Players
Tea on tap!
McSkippy's (IC and food... yummy)
Looking forward to staying for the whole event next time. It sounded like it got quite exciting after that.

Don't you mean "resemble"?
Plus, if I hadn't rebuffed the first one, Constance wouldn't have heard all the other classics. She was highly amused, she kept wondering what you would come up with next...
