Don't suppose that anyone knows how to supercharge a Chariot?
Not for long hauls, it just needs to be able to do short bursts of speed, say if it was racing another ship, for example.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm clearly not thinking of enrolling in any forthcoming, illegal races, being a good law-abiding citizen of the Alliance.
*ksssk*
*ksssk*
But just hypothetically saying that I was, I might've been willing to make a decent offer in return for the services of a good mechanic, if any would like to discuss the details of said hypothesis. Crowson out

Uh, only words I can give ya Cap'n Tom is not, repetez NOT, crossfeed ya fuel lines in the engine 'partment. Then DON'T, wrap 'em around in a twirly fashion to make a big ball o' power, and then weld reflec-plates all around it, dohn ma? Even if'n yer sure it'll give you a chwen duh massive boost!
Makes a real pretty light show but horns off ya mechanic - if'n ya had one - to merry bejeezus an' back.
So, uh, don' try that one, 'kay? _________________ Prince, Grace's Gunsharks

Erm...thanks, I think.
Sadly Im flicking through the info-flex, on the Mark II Chariots cos that all I could get my hands on.
*KsssK*
*Ksssk*
Page one "Welcome and congratulations on purchasing your new Mark II Chariot class craft. With care and attention, the Chariot can prove to be on of the most reliable ships in its hull to thrust ratio class and will be with you for many years to come" blah blah. Skipped past a load of the stuff on the main bits and have been trying to find the section on fixing the comms. Found hitting it with this ...erm...spanner thing..... seems to do the trick
*kssssk*
*ksssk*
So, I now know what the red wire underneath the reverse thrusts panel is for, and I can just about change the bulbs on the sub-hull floodlights. But thats about it
*ksssk*
*ksssk*
So what you just said sounded like gibberish to me. Which is what I suspect it probably was anyway. Crowson out

I much prefer to business face to face, so will have a chat once we get planetside.
And as far as I recall, old "Captain Pointy-hat" welched out on a bet we made last time I saw him, so my business would be with you and not your captain, if its all the same to you

I believe you have your facts incorrect, and that you should correct them rather than spreading falsehoods.
As the Great Teacher Kong Fuzi said, "To know that one knows what one knows, and to know that one doesn't know what one doesn't know, there lies true wisdom."
Anyway. I find myself detained by family business on Sihnon, so shall not be attending the upcoming festivities. _________________ Xavier Yu Ji of the Chang'E. "Pointy Hat Man"

If I recall correctly, we did make a bet of 20 credits as to whether Tiny could hammer that Wildman. You said he couldn't. I said he could.
We shook on it. There were witnesses
The next morning when we came to arrange the "duel" you didn't seem so keen to actually honour the deal
Assuming that you do remember that, we can try and arrange the match at the forthcoming festivities? There might be some other people who would be wanting to get in on the action?

I would be fascinated in seeing the outcome of such a combat, and am indeed willing to bet on the chances of Raised By winning. He is stronger than he appears, and can move with savage speed and ferocity.
However, Raised By is not mine to command into the fight. He is in my cargo, he does not belong to me. I can no more command him to fight in a prize-fight than you can. And if he or his employer does not wish him to fight, I will not force him into a potentially life-threatening combat just to satisfy the morbidly voyeuristic curiosity of people who would not want to be in said combat themselves.
If the two do come to blows, I remain willing to uphold my wager as to who would win. However, as the contest has not yet occured, I do not see how I can be said to have welched out of a bet any more than you have.
Sadly the Paquin circus who were previously in my cargo hold are currently busy, and thus are unable to attend the upcoming event. _________________ Xavier Yu Ji of the Chang'E. "Pointy Hat Man"

Then I shall stand corrected in my statment. You did not welch on a bet, you just didnt have what was required to make a valid bet in the first place. My apologies for my misunderstanding, shu ren
I assumed when we said we'd arrange a fight for the next morning with a 20 credit bet on the outcome that you actually had already agreed with the wildman's keepers that he would be able to fight.
I had already got Tiny's agreement to compete (though he would obviously take a portion of the winnings as recompense) so assumed that your contender would actually have been at least made aware that you were entering him into a contest
Perhaps the rice wine had clouded our judgement somewhat and enthused us both to make a deal without confirming with all parties involved that they would be willing to participate
Might I advise though, that at the forthcoming Derby that you only make betting agreements on something which you are able to fulfil your side of any commitment
Crowson out
